Alden Bates' WeblogFeigning normality since 1973I killed Windows Media Player!Filed in: Computers. I noticed there was an update to Windows Media Player, and promptly told my computer to fetch it. Of course, partway through the installation, the CPU hit 100% usage and reset, hosing WMP... The only thing stopping me from taking this heap in to get fixed right now is the fact then I'd be stuck at home without a PC for a week or so. :P Posted December 28, 2004 4:49 PM CommentsLooks like the machine is overheating. Try using compressed air to blow any dust out or running the machine with the side off. It records everything you play through it in a file nasty file. I mean EVERYTHING. Posted by: Warchild | December 29, 2004 2:43 PM Jeramey: unfortunately cleaning the dust out of it didn't make a difference, and I've been running it with the side off for quite a while now. :/ Warchild: I've considered oh so many times getting a Mac, but most of the programs I use are all PC only...
