Maggie Sawyer Has No Pants

Filed in: TV & Movies.

I was watching Superman: The Animated Series again recently and remembered something that always bothered me about one of the characters: Captain Maggie Sawyer of the Metropolis PD appears to be going pants-less. Witness:
Maggie Sawyer: Pantless Policewoman

Really the only thing that stops her looking like she has nothing on under the mini-trench-coat is the black collar she's got.
Maggie Sawyer: Without a Pants

OK, so, she's probably supposed to be wearing a black dress or something under there, but... WTF? Couldn't they have given her trousers?

At least she usually seems to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions, unlike Lois and her short skirt who, in one episode, almost shows off her underwear while crawling away from a robotic dinosaur:
Is it flash knickers time now?

...but she's saved by the animators being very carefulanimating her awkwardly:
My legs are all deformed!

That concludes today's post about how superhero cartoons are riddled with filth*.

* Just kidding.

Blogs that reference the Timmverse get my immediate attention.

The skirtless thing kinda got me too. I'm not complaining though. My friend slow-mos the scenes of Giganta in the Justice League cartoons.

Yeah, plus compared to some of the outfits women get in the comic books, Maggie's doing quite well. :)

What about Mercy Graves? Her jacket covers even less, and she doesn't seem to wear anything under it either! http://www.comicvine.com/mercy-graves/29-9995/all-images/108-209037/pan12/105-934104/
